How many working days are allowed in a week?
A standard working week consists of five working days, usually from Monday to Friday. Working time laws and regulations often limit the maximum number of hours that can be worked in a week.
In Germany, for example, the Working Hours Act stipulates a maximum working time of 48 hours per week, spread over six working days. However, most employees only work five days, which results in working hours of around 40 hours per week.
If these regulations are exceeded, this must be compensated for by appropriate break and rest periods within the legal framework.
