Statutory rest period

There is a statutory uninterrupted rest period of at least 11 hours after the end of the daily working time.
However, there are also exceptions for certain industries. These can be defined either by the legislator, the collective agreement or by a supervisory authority.
The following sectors have the opportunity to present their rest period by up to one hour. However, an extension of another rest period to at least 12 hours must be compensated within 4 weeks:
Hospitals
Care, support & treatment facilities for people
Broadcasting
Transport company
Agriculture & animal husbandry
