L-GAV
What does L-GAV stand for?
L-GAV stands for “National Collective Labor Agreement” and is a Swiss collective labor agreement for the hospitality industry. The L-GAV regulates the working conditions and relationships between employers and employees in this specific sector.
What does the L-GAV regulate?
Among other things, it stipulates minimum wages, working hours, vacation regulations (i.e. vacation regulations), notice periods and other labor law provisions. In the Swiss hospitality industry, for example, there are five weeks’ vacation instead of four.
As this is a collective employment contract, the conditions set out in it are binding for all employees and employers in the respective sector, regardless of the size of the company.

Is Teamhero L-GAV compliant?
The Teamhero software is L-GAV compliant. In the interests of transparency, it is important for us to highlight and comment on a few points from the L-GAV.
Days of rest (Art. 16 – Days of rest)
According to the L-GAV, 2 rest days per week are mandatory. It is important to note that Teamhero will not automatically notify you if the rest days are not properly managed. However, it is very important to us that you can ensure that employees receive their well-deserved rest days.
Approval of working time recording (Art. 21 – Work schedule / working time recording / working time control)
According to the L-GAV, employers are required to sign the working hours at least once a month. Our existing customers have already made agreements with their employees that the working hours are marked as “approved” in the system on a monthly basis. This means that no additional “signature” is required as the approval is done automatically within Teamhero.
Ultimately, software is just software
Although Teamhero makes an important contribution to ensuring that an organization complies with legal regulations regarding rest periods etc., we would like to emphasize that software cannot prevent all possible circumvention attempts. Our platform provides a strong framework to minimize possible negative incidents and improve compliance.
