Works Council
A works council is an employee representative body. It helps to assert your rights in the workplace and actively shape the further development of the company. A works council also represents the interests of the workforce and is the point of contact for questions.
It also has a say in some decisions affecting employees.
The tasks of the works council include, for example
- Monitoring compliance with laws, ordinances, regulations, contracts and company agreements
- Apply for employer measures that benefit the workforce & the company
- Equal opportunities for women and men and the promotion of work-life balance
- Promoting the integration of foreign workers
- Integration of severely disabled persons & other vulnerable persons
- Promotion of older employees
- Securing employment in the company
- Ensuring occupational health and safety measures and promoting operational environmental protection
