Qualification
The term professional qualification refers to a special qualification for a specific profession after completing training.
Qualification: The competencies
With the help of the professional qualification, the employee has acquired the professional competence, social competence and key qualification for a specific profession or trade.
The expertise consists of, for example:
- General education
- Specialist knowledge & skills
This competence can be proven by school reports, vocational qualifications, aptitude tests or job references.
Social competence is made up of:
- Ability to work in a team
- Communication skills
- Assertiveness
- Solve problems
- Sense of responsibility
These things can be verified through a personal interview, trial work or also through certificates or performance assessments.
Expand qualifications
Of course, you always have the option of extending or catching up on your qualifications. For example, you can acquire new technical knowledge or a new professional qualification.
To do this, first define a qualification goal. Lifelong learning is likely to become increasingly important in the future. It is not only employers themselves who often offer the opportunity to undertake further and advanced training, but also the employment agency.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research also offers other interesting further training courses.
Find the right qualification path for you. You don’t have to wait for training from your employer, you can simply take action yourself. The following measures can be implemented quickly and easily:
- Learning apps and other digital media
- Attend seminars
- Individual coaching
- Self-study of specialist books and journals
Also think about the general conditions. It is quite possible that your employer will cover the costs of further training. If they do not, there are other options for funding. For example, there are training vouchers from the employment agency that you can use.
However, you should not only calculate the costs, but also the time required. Don’t take on too much and don’t neglect your job and family. Find a good balance for yourself and everyone involved.
