Holiday surcharge
A public holiday bonus is a supplement to normal pay. This is the employee paid for working on public holidays. However, it is important to note that such additional payment is not required by law.
However, such an allowance can be stipulated in the contract or a company agreement. The amount varies and can be up to 100 % to the effective salary. For the work on so-called high holidays such as Easter, Christmas, Whitsun, New Year or May 1st, it can even be up to 150 % on these days.
